Cropping a picture.

In this screenshot above, I had to crop the photo to erase the fans and to show the golfer by himself. This was an easy task, given that the cropping tool was a joy to use and was easy to locate and utilise. Firstly, the screenshot that was taken before editing shows the golfer with the fans, but has already been highlighted with the cropping option. To crop this photo, I selected the cropping option in the toolbox menu and selected the part which needed to be cropped, as shaded in black in the first screenshot and deleted it.

I opened the image and noticed that the picture was too dark and this needed to be rectified. To do this, I highlighted the whole photo by pressing Ctrl+A and selected the Enhance heading. Once this was selected, I selected the sub-heading Adjust Lighting and selected Shadows/Highlights. Once I had selected this option, the default setting of the Lighten Shadows option was 35%. To decrease the shadows and make the picture lighter, I dragged the cursor to the right to 55% to make the picture brighter, thus brightening the shadows.

I selected the heading “Image” and clicked on Levels, which was an option under this heading. After choosing Levels, I adjusted the specific levels of the colour I chose the channel as RGB and put the right arrow to the far right on 255, which brightened the colour of the coffee as shown in the second screenshot. By brightening the colour, the finished edit is the change of the coffee from black to brown, which was print screened after completion.
