RACE DAY INFO
SUNDAY 4 OCTOBER
Race Times
Baggage Area
The Lloyds Bank Cardiff Half Marathon will start
at 9am on Sunday 4th October. The wheelchair
race will start at 8.50am and both races will
start on Castle Street. Late starters will not
be permitted to take part.
The baggage tents will be open at 7.30am.
Baggage tents for those with a white
number will be located in Bute Park en route
to the start. Please refer to the race start
map for the exact location.
Runner number and timing chip
Your timing chip will be embedded in your
runner number. Please remember to bring
your runner number with you on the day as
these cannot be re-issued.
Please ensure your runner number is safely
and clearly pinned to the FRONT of your vest
or t-shirt.
YOU MUST FILL IN YOUR EMERGENCY
DETAILS ON THE BACK OF YOUR NUMBER.
Please note: failure to wear your runner
number across the starting mat will mean
your time will not be recorded.
Timing Pens
Your race number will be in a colour that
corresponds to your estimated time.
Please assemble within the clearly signposted
colour-coded pens near the start on Castle
Street. For safety reasons, runners must
assemble in the correct colour pen.
Please allow enough time to walk to the start
and assemble. Pens will open at 8.15am.
The race will have a staggered wave start to
ensure that all runners cross the start line as
safely as possible.
Colours are as follows:
Sub 1:45
White*
Sub 2.00
Orange
Sub 2:15
Green
Over 2:15+
Yellow
*NB: White is sub-divided into elite and
sub 1.30 areas on the morning.
All other baggage will be located on Museum
Avenue and in the museum car park near the
Runners’ Village. Please refer to the village
and baggage map in this brochure for an
exact location.
All runners are allowed to deposit one bag
which must display your baggage label which
is a tear-off strip on the bottom of your race
number. Please attach the label before your
arrival. Bags can be collected after the race
upon receipt of your runner number.
Only runners and staff will have access to
this area.
Items not collected after baggage closure
will be held at the Event Information tent in
the Runners’ Village. The following day they
will be taken to the Cardiff Half Marathon
office. Please contact the events team to

It is strongly advised that you leave valuables
at home. Race organisers cannot be held
responsible if items go missing or are
damaged. We will do our utmost to safeguard
your baggage, but the area is not secured.
Presentation Ceremony
The prize ceremony will take place at 11.30am
near the finish line. Age category winners’
prizes will be posted. Presentations will
be made to race winners and to medallists
in the British Championship and Welsh
