RACE DAY INFORMATION
SUNDAY 6 OCTOBER
Race Times
The Lloyds Bank Cardiff Half Marathon will start at 9.00am. The wheelchair race will start at 8.50am and both races will start on Castle Street. Late starters will not be permitted to take part. upon presentation of your runner number. Only runners and staff will have access to this area. Items not collected after baggage closure will be held at the general information point. The following day, they will be taken to the Cardiff Half Marathon of? ce. Race organisers cannot be held responsible for lost items. We will do our utmost to safeguard your baggage, but the area is not locked.
Runner number and timing chip
Your timing chip will be embedded in your runner number. Please remember to bring your runner number with you on the day as these cannot be re-issued. Please ensure your runner number is safely and clearly pinned to the FRONT of your vest or t-shirt. It is essential that you ? ll in your emergency details on the back of your number. Please note: failure to wear your runner number or cross the starting mat will mean your time will not be recorded.
Prize Presentation
The prize presentation ceremony will take place at 11.30am near the ? nish line. Medallists and prize winners should make their way to the presentation area to collect their prize. Age category winners’ prizes will be posted. Presentations will be made to race winners and to medallists in the British Championship and Welsh Championships. Starting pens
Your race number will be in a colour that corresponds to your estimated time. Please assemble within the clearly signposted colour-coded pens near the start on Castle Street from 8.15am. For safety reasons runners must assemble in the correct colour pen. Any clothes left at the start will be donated to charity. Please allow enough time to walk to the start and assemble. Commemorative T-shirts
All runners will receive a commemorative Brooks sports t-shirt and goody bag upon completion of the race. There will be four sizes of t-shirt available: small, medium, large and extra large. Please look for the signs and listen to the instructions of the race supervisors and volunteers to ensure you pick up your correct size. You will not be able to re-enter the run-off area.
Baggage Area
A baggage store will be open at 7.30am in the Runners’ Village on City Hall lawns. All runners are allowed to deposit one bag, which must display your baggage label which is a tear-off strip on the bottom of your race number. Please attach the label before your arrival. Bags can be collected after the race
Toilet Facilities
There will be several banks of toilets around the Civic Centre in the Runners’ Village, on the way to the start and along the route.
