COO REPORT
A lot has happened in 2014, and it is all POSITIVE. It is hard to believe that we
interviewed our first PILOT child for the sponsorship program back in 2008, and started
our first group of 22 sponsored children in 2009. I will let the articles in this edition of
the Newsletter show you what changes we have made:

Cararoo Stand
What is RAWCS?
You would have seen Cararoo mentioning RAWCS for a
number of years.
Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS)
assists Rotary Clubs in Australia with the development
and management of international community service
projects. Such projects may be to help rebuild in the
aftermath of disaster, to bring education to countries
where illiteracy stifles development, or to provide health
care and medical aid to those who can least access it.
In the case of Cararoo Foundation RAWCS:
helps the Australian team to mix with other
Rotary Clubs working on similar projects overseas.
RAWCS has a 2 day group District meeting every
quarter.
provides Tax Deductibility for donations received
via RAWCS
gives our supporters the surety that Cararoo is
part of a global enterprise and being supported by
good honest people.

It is not often that a prestigious event like the Rotary
International Convention is held in the Cararoo
Foundation Australian home city, Sydney, Australia. Our
Australian management team gave
careful
consideration
before
approaching the Rotary Club of
Northlakes Toukley (our RAWCS
sponsoring Rotary club) to see if
they would support Cararoo
having a stand at the Convention.
We received unanimous support from the RCNT Board
plus a $1,000 donation towards the cost of setting up
and running the stand. The Convention from 31st May
to 4th June 2014 is at The Showgrounds, Sydney
Olympic Park.
