Captains With Crowns Oct. 2013 | Seite 7

Kappa Phi held its annual Pink Pageant on October 24, 2013. Eleven men representing each Greek organization on campus, as well as one man for Panhellenic, competed the week before the competition in a change war, where students dropped spare change in a jar to support the candidate they wanted to win; from the change wars alone, over $300 was raised. The men also decorated a bra to wear as they were escorted onto stage by a Kappa Phi sister; after explaining their bras, they participated in Jeopardy, with the categories of: Breast Cancer Awareness and Education Facts, Christopher Newport University Facts/History, ZTA Facts/History and Greek Organizations Facts/History. After completing the jeopardy game, each participant displayed a talent, ranging from rapping an original song to dancing with ribbons. After the judges deliberated and tallied their scores, the three winners were announced and given pink sashes– a winner for best bra, best talent, and then the overall Pink Pageant Winner. The overall winner was also given a five pointed crown. Overall, the pageant raised over $2,000, all of which was donated towards Breast Cancer Education and Awareness.
