T he CU community welcomed freshmen, returnees and transferees during the annual Welcome Assembly last July 5, 2013 at the CU Gymnatorium. The first-half of the event featured the Red Mass offered by the university Chaplain, Msgr. Tex Legitimas who in his homily shared that ‘We must develop spiritually, focus our heart and mind to accomplish the things we need’. The birthday celebrators for the month of July were also blessed by Msgr. Legitimas thereafter. The CU Glee Club and the CU Dance Troupe together with the CSG officers opened the 2nd part of the program through a robotic performance with their ‘techy’ costumes. The university President, Atty. Casimiro B. Juarez Jr. then graced the event by welcoming CU’s freshmen and transferees with an inspirational speech. In his speech, Atty. Juarez encouraged the students to devote their time here in CU and be committed with their studies. “You are here to learn… so study study study, with that you will not go wrong,” he shared. He also emphasized the importance of the core values of Capitol University which are culture, competence, commitment and character “so that if you come out of the university…you will be a total person” he added. The Executive Vice President, Dr. Fe R. Juarez, then presented the members of the CU Administration as well as the introduction of the college deans and instructors. Lastly, CU Stallion Cheer Stars and the CU Dance Troupe showcased performances along with the waving of the banner labeled ‘Stallion Rules’ symbolizing the unity among capitolians.
