River Oak Center for Children
helps children and youth who need
support, coaching and treatment
to thrive in school, at home and in
the community. Through innovative
and evidence-based programs, River
Oak strengthens children, youth and
families to manage life’s challenges
and achieve their full potential.
“For more than 50 years, River
Oak has provided behavioral health
services to children, youth and
families in the greater Sacramento
area. We currently serve more than
1,100 children and youth at any given
time,” notes Clothier. As former River
Oak Board President Larry Allbaugh
says, “There is no doubt in my mind
at all that a dollar that you give to the
River Oak organization is multiplied
many times over with a bunch of
effective people doing incredible
work.”

iver Oak Center for
Children celebrated its 50th
anniversary in 2016, and
this year celebrates a new location for
its Birth & Beyond Family Resource
Center (FRC). Now situated at the
Fruit Ridge Community Collaborative
in South Oak Park, the FRC continues
its life-changing programs in the
heart of an area that greatly benefits
from those programs.
From 2015 to 2016, the FRC served
nearly 500 families, almost 120 more
than the previous year, and with the
new space and updated facilities, will
serve even more. “This move to the
Fruit Ridge Community Collaborative
is especially exciting as April is Child
Abuse Prevention Month,” notes
