Government and Government Districts
Every resident of Cape Coral is represented by elected city, county, state and federal officials. The City of Cape Coral relies on a city manager, mayor and a sevenmember City Council. Councilmembers must reside in their wards, but are elected at-large in nonpartisan elections.
Two of Lee County’ s five county commissioners, elected from two districts, represent the people of Cape Coral. One member of the state House of Representatives and the state Senate, one U. S. representative and two U. S. senators represent the Cape.
