18 Employability Festival: Programme of Events WEDNESDAY 4 NOVEMBER The day covers: general guidance to museum employability, marketing/commercial services, fundraising, conservation management, collections management, lunch and chance to look around the museum, education and events, community engagement, and interpretation: exhibitions and galleries. These professionals have been in your shoes; they too studied at Kent and have now gone on to have exciting and successful careers in a range of academic disciplines and industrial sectors. Moreover, this opportunity will enable you to begin thinking about the next step after graduation, both in terms of your career, and becoming part of a varied and engaged alumni community which is still active within the University. Opportunities include festival and event delivery; working with artists, curators and performers; managing audiences and customer service; and the possibility of delivering your own project as part of the festival in March 2016. This behind the scenes day will consist of sessions led by the Museum staff. Each department will offer an overview of what their job entails, and how they got into that position. All students (booking essential) Want to see what attending an Assessment Centre is like before the real thing? Fun and interactive, you will gain an insight into real Assessment Centre activities, which can cover problem solving, team work and psychometric tests among others! This event is free and open to all but places are limited so booking is essential. TS IN Stage 1 and 2 computing students only Posters will be exhibited capturing the experiences of returning placement students and demonstrating the benefits of doing a placement. This will show second years the diversity of industries, companies and roles available for the Year in Industry. Kent alumni, employers and staff members host tables in the café, at which students discuss topics to help them to promote themselves to prospective employers, learn how to network and self-identify their skill set.
