Many of my own articles have used terms such as “invest long and prosper” and “connecting the dots so you don’t have to”. The latter referring to value added and relevant factual presentation and relationships. Our case studies are all fact based yet anticipatory which once again demonstrates the symbiotic relationship in this industry between: fundamental analysis, technical analysis, eco-system viewpoint, and understanding Ecoforming. Under-standing that relationship allows the typical retail investor to realize that market manipulators and paid promoters are nothing more than minor disturbances to the ecosystem. However, if left unchallenged we all know what happens when weeds and invasive species take hold and that is why we call them out and teach you how to identify them.

With respect to paid promoters, we have warned you from day 1 about how they use newsletters, social media, and bullboards to work their craft. The smarter ones are very chameleon like such as lessening their presence in the OTC market by following the smart money north to Canada where they try to legitimize themselves with a few large clients. The end game of course is that when they return to the USA when cannabis is rescheduled most will have forgotten the OTC days while also returning with a résumé that includes some of the largest global companies as clients. Using chameleon tactics in the survival of the fittest that is the wild west paid promoter world just may be a survival tactic that succeeds. This article highlights the extent of the problem.

In a recent article appearing in our Canadian edition, I highlighted how a paid promoter criticized the management of target company of an M&A. It was not until I called the paid promoter out because the acquirer was a client did the paid promoter disclose this. At the end of the day, I cannot repeat enough the inherit risk of accepting investment advice from someone who has an ongoing client relationship with industry companies. But that does not mean you will not do well by following them.

It was CannaInvestor that brought attention to the natural synergies between this industry and blockchain last summer yet it seems only recently others have rebranded this strategy under their own banner. There are many other examples as you know. Leading and not following has always been your advantage by subscribing. In the end, as we all know, it is better to lead than to follow.
