MPX holds 51% of Massachusetts-based IMT, LLC and Fall River Developments, LLC in the state, and we’re developing cultivation and production facilities there with 2.25 million gram per annum (gpa) cultivation capacity and 500,000 gpa high margin concentrates. We believe our well established Health for Life and MPX brands will be well received in this lucrative market. In fact, with 26 million people within a couple hours drive time of the state, we believe that Massachusetts will develop into the largest adult-use cannabis market east of California.

In Maryland, recently revamped legislation, which originally envisioned restricted cannabis cultivation and distribution to academic institutions only, is moving towards a robust medical cannabis industry complete with dispensaries. We also like it because the number of licenses available are limited and we will not see the ridiculously unrestricted competitive landscape that threatens the viability of the industry in Oregon, Washington and Colorado.

With over 8,500 patients currently certified for use of medical marijuana (over 12,000 signed up to become eligible) and over 550 medical practitioners registered to certify patients as eligible, the market in Maryland is expected to be worth US$221 million by 2021 (Source: New Frontier). So again, this represents a significant opportunity for us to grow our Health for Life and MPX brands’ footprint.

CIM: A cornerstone to investing is the need to not only be diversified but to be diversified smartly. Looking at MPX, you are diversified not only across product lines (you have three core brands) and sectors but also internationally including Canada, USA and Israel brands. How important is it to MPX to have these layers of diversification which, in turn, translates into shareholder value?

MPXEF: There is a common thread that runs through every facet of our diversification and that is to provide diverse, innovative and best-in-class medical and recreational cannabis products. We are working to leverage our already well-established Melting Point Extract (MPX) products through Health for Life and other dispensaries to further grow out footprint. We believe that growing brand traction with consumers across our diversified platform will generate revenue and shareholder growth. The cannabis industry is proliferating internationally and we are working to establish our brands in North America with an eye to expansion into other countries. Stay-tuned.
