I like entrepreneurs a lot — been one myself, off and on — and admire their pluck and spirit. Of course, there’s also a downside: The entrepreneurial personality is really stubborn, and delusional. On the other hand, the odds are always against any startup success, and only an SOB know-it-all would ever take on that kind of challenge. And something else …

Once or twice in a decade, something comes along that spreads through the entrepreneurial world like a virus, also pulling in plenty of early-stage investors. Remember the dot.com craze, the Internet and other tech frenzies?

But cannabis’ legalization will be a whopper, and a new generation of entrepreneurs and speculative investors have been thinking, “WOW!” Well, maybe yes, or maybe no. It will definitely be fortune-building for some folks, but a disappointment for others.

Certainly, all the various facets of legal cannabis are here to stay, and will surpass booze, with the medical and pharma sectors becoming major parts of the action. There’s also carbon negative industrial hemp. This, too, will be huge.
