I was so intrigued by that response as it mirrored my own published material from 2016 when I said it is not like the dot-com era insofar as this is the transition of an existing industry from an illegal black market to a legal regulated market combined with the fact that cannabis has been used to treat medical conditions for thousands of years before its prohibition. I said it is like dot-com because we will see so many players enter the industry hoping to be successful and the majority will fail meaning their investors will lose too …. And from there, the inevitable hucksters looking to just cash in on the dreams and goodwill of others.

I also very much appreciated that in the interview Todd also referred to these malign actors as “hucksters” because that is a term I have used for years to describe these same characters. Todd also commented on the paid promoters and subreddit hobbyists etc and stressed the importance of being able to identify and distinguish those that bring real measurable value to the industry and particularly to investors from the “bad actors”.

And another reason why that interview is your must read of the day – it is from an American perspective speaking chiefly about the American listed companies and players in the industry. So again I invite you to read that interview and links and contact information to Todd are included therein. Todd, once again a big thank you for that because a core duty, I believe, is to continuously raise awareness and education in this industry … as you said in that interview “content is currency”.

And that too is why I have emphasized that investing in the securities of publicly traded American companies listed on national security exchanges such as the Canadian ones may provide access to greater liquidity, information, and to be frank – less sleepless nights worrying about your investment dollars. I continue my assertion as well that as the march to the 2020 federal election continues we may see ending federal prohibition move more and more to the forefront including perhaps from some of its traditional opponents because let’s be honest … a politician’s first objective is getting elected or to be less cynical – to listen to the electorate and constituents and shape their policy positions accordingly regardless of personal prejudices and bias.
