We have enjoyed exponential growth.

Our first client in the cannabis industry was a licenced producer who came to us a little more than three years ago to review the security of their facilities.

Today, we have more than 270 employees including 220 fully trained unarmed and armed guards, a fleet of more than 60 armoured and unarmoured vehicles and five locations across Canada.

We’re providing security to more than 60 customers across the country and consulting services to more than 550 clients.

So there is a great deal of interest in the security services we provide.

I expect this to grow as the industry grows and as awareness of the risks involved in the business increases.

On that same line of thought … what is unique and challenging about the legal cannabis industry compared to your more traditional clients?

The risks involved and the security measures we have to take are unique to each of our clients, even within the cannabis industry.

However, moving cannabis isn’t the same as moving other high-risk products like money.

For example, mould or other contaminants can ruin a shipment of cannabis, which can be worth $25 million or more.

We have to make sure that our vehicles are cleaned and spotless after every shipment.
