CIM: One close to my heart as I live less than 10 minutes away from the College (which is also home to UOIT) and I just completed their “Medical Cannabis Fundamentals for Business Professionals” course – can you expand more on your recently announced partnership with Durham College?
EMMBF: Our patient education division, GrowWise Health, has become one of Canada’s leading cannabis education services. We believe GrowWise can play a significant role in educating people interested in a variety of topics related to cannabis, especially as interest in industry grows, in addition to working one on one with patients. Durham has incredible experience in building curriculum and delivering content through a variety of channels and together we can leverage our collective experience to create best in class learning opportunities while building GrowWise’s presence and reputation.
CIM: That is very exciting! You also have an arrangement with Canada largest health clinic (the Oshawa Clinic) that is also located in Oshawa Ontario which is where Durham College is located. Why this clinic network in Oshawa?
EMMBF: Healthcare professionals are becoming increasingly comfortable with medical cannabis as a treatment option and there is a growing body of research to support its use. We are looking to support clinics of all sizes across the country with the GrowWise education program and are quite pleased that The Oshawa Clinic has been open to us establishing an education centre within their clinic. The value of the GrowWise program is that education centres can be embedded within existing clinic environments, providing patients with convenient access to trained Educators as opposed to being referred to an outside clinic.
