SunIQ: Primarily, the awareness of the public comes to mind. There is still a great misunderstanding of industrial hemp and medical marijuana as well as the distinction between the two. CBD-based products do not get you high whereas THC-based products do. However, it is the cannabinoids within both those products that have medicinal value. However, due to the fact industrial hemp has been lumped in with medical marijuana for the better part of 80 years as something is somehow dangerous. The desired outcome of achieving our goals is to educate the population through demonstration that CBD-based products are exactly the opposite of harmful or dangerous – that they are in every way beneficial to the economy, industry, and medical fields.

Secondly, we see that since the Farm Bill of 2018 was an effective decriminalization without regulatory recourse, there is in effect a lack of regulation within the market. We anticipate this will result in a rush to begin production of Industrial Hemp crops across the United States. Some will take advantage of this situation to produce the best crop they can possibly create, whereas there will be others who will not adhere to the highest levels of quality and market a product that is sub-par. Though our goal is to target those who take pride in the quality of their farming methods as well as their end-product, those who cut corners will also greatly impact the market for better or for worse.

CIM: What hurdles and obstacles do you currently see in the CBD marketplace?

SunIQ: SunIQ prides itself in the systems developed by its human assets as much as the products the systems are anticipated to produce. These systems represent the intellectual property of the company which takes pre-existing technology and methodology and combines them in ways that have yet to be seen within this new and emerging marketplace. These systems of deriving the absolute greatest levels of consistency and efficiency in product development will define the baseline of our operations.
