CIM: What would you say the primary benefits are?

Nicole: For the first time, we are giving consumers the ability to create personalized products from their home within minutes. In addition, we are providing consumers with assurance that the products are SAFE, CONSISTENT, and PRECISE.

For the first time, users will be able to create exactly what they want, when they want it, and in what form. In addition, the mobile app gives users a place to go and find recipes that are working for other people, see the ratings and feedback, and try it. If they like it, they can save it and share it with their friends or the Oblend community.

CIM: Why are predictability and consistent results important?

Nicole: For medicinal cannabis users, unpredictable results are unacceptable. Can you imagine taking ibuprofen and hoping it didn’t incapacitate you for an hour or more? Having a way to create predictable and consistent cannabis blends will give people confidence. Many people have heard about the medicinal benefits of cannabis but are hesitant to try cannabis due to fear that they will get high. Providing people with the ability to adjust the THC level will give people confidence to try cannabinoids such as CBD or CBN to receive the therapeutic benefits without concern about unwanted side effects.

CIM: Who is your target audience?

Nicole: Initially, we are targeting medicinal cannabis users who often struggle to find the right products and once they do, ongoing consistency often becomes their next hurdle. We plan to focus on medicinal users looking for alternative solutions for managing pain, anxiety, depression, sleep issues, and symptoms related to PTSD. Ultimately, because our app’s recipes are crowd-sourced, our users will help determine future directions. Eventually, we will target the broader health and wellness market and plan to introduce an expanded selection of healthy ingredients, such as fish oil, turmeric, and liquidized vitamins.

CIM: How do you see customers customizing their oil blends?

Nicole: We have many use cases, but let me share a couple of examples: Let’s say a user is dealing with breast cancer and she has heard that cannabis is effective in symptom relief but she’s afraid to try cannabis. She could search for “breast cancer” in the Oblend app and find recipes being used by people like her. Then she selects one of these recipes and notices that it has THC in it (which is the only psychoactive ingredient in cannabis). Using the app, she could decrease the THC level to zero, blend the recipe in a micro dose, try it and if it works for her, she can save it to her favorites for future use. Continued
