The new law, Senate Bill 8-A, passed in July 2017, allows the Florida Department of Health (DOH) to license Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers to produce a much wider variety of products without restrictions on THC levels.
More qualifying conditions were added, for a total of nine, greatly expanding the number of qualifying and participating patients.
13 companies currently hold medical marijuana treatment center licenses and as the patient count grows, a total of 33 will have been awarded by the Florida Department of Health
