As our readers know, my first articles about this industry from a few years ago were on how infused functional beverages could be at the forefront in just a few years. I have championed that ever since and here we are. Just how significant do you believe this subsector is? Now from an ROI perspective … if one believes the bud or flower will become a commodity where ever it is legal, then finished products may very well be where the greatest ROI potential lies …?

The subsector is really limitless. I say that because today we don’t have recognized brands globally yet. Which I think is one of the biggest differentiators Alkaline88 has. While we recognize and appreciate the shift of global beverage into the sector, we agree that the finished product under a known and identifiable brand will provide the highest ROI across the board.

Let’s be candid. IB juAt announced this week its move into the sector with Tilray, Constellation is already here with Canopy, Altria with Cronos - this is only the beginning as I believe we all see at some stage Coke, Nestle, and the likes of Glaxo or Diageo will make their move. Why? The ROI on the final product for consumers is too attractive to stay on the sidelines for. They didn’t come and partner with the senior companies in cannabis to become LP’s and Grow. They came to identify brands or build brands and make money in the fastest moving category globally. Full stop and we are thinking the exact same way with taking our know brand Alkaline88 and inviting the “Soothe” product lines to our consumers will provide that same type of ROI for one company.

What about the seniors’ demographic … that is to say, many retirement homes and nursing homes do not permit smoking or vaping or for that matter even cooking … but a premeasured consistent dose of CBD infused beverage appears ideally suited …?

Louis I could talk for days on what the CBD market should become, will become or can become. I think that as folks continue to get more educated, society becomes more open to how and why these products can benefit that an entire new market will open up. I think the seniors (if you will) will adopt this sooner than later through successful implantation at care homes and facilities. But let’s not forget the pre care home folks and just an aging population either. Without making health claims, there will be great lifestyle CBD products that people will gravitate to and become loyal to - just like they do a Starbucks, and why? Because it makes them feel great, feel better. We hope we become that brand that folks can rely on to do that for them. We think we will.
