How different is the testing regulatory and compliance climate outside of the US?

Countries around the world that are legalizing cannabis products are looking to states like Nevada in order to duplicate the stringent testing regulations that have been implemented here. A lot of the rules are still being established and we’re working with government officials in Colombia to ensure they understand how important testing is.

You recently launched GroSciences. What does the company do and what are the synergies with DIGP?

Basically, we collect data on every single sample we test. As we analyze this data we’ve learned a ton about the chemical makeup of cannabis through chemo profiling. From this data, our Chief Science Officer, Cindy Orser, PhD, has created some very promising formulations, that we have filed provisional patents for, and these formulations will be the basis for new products down the line. We can now help any business looking to expand into cannabis products by giving them the Science to Succeed.

What impact will the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill have on your business going forward?

The Farm Bill essentially legalized hemp and CBD everywhere in the United States. All that hemp and products made from hemp requires testing. Again, isn’t that sexy?
