Threats of Antibiotics and Human Health
To reduce the mortality rate of the livestock, and for higher economic profit. antibiotics are widely used in the farming industry. As early as 1988, US Institute of Medicine had noticed that overuse and misuse of antibiotics threatened the human health. Recently, more and more researches and case studies have proved that antibiotics surely endanger the health of human beings. The US had hearings at Congress, seeking legislature solutions to limit and prohibit the antibiotics in feed. K I US FDA has issued new guidance that from 1/1/2017, the use of antibiotics in feed is strictly limited. ( 2 10 USDA regulation: from 1/1/201 8, the use of antibiotics on livestock is limited. These two regulations will have significant effect on the meat industry.
According to UK Food Standard Agency report EU an UK have both taken legal steps regarding Antibiotics.
