CN: There are a few groups that have recognized tissue culture as the future of cannabis cultivation. Our focus at Conception is not only to provide a far superior plant than traditional propagation but to do so at or below what it would cost for a cultivator to do in-house. The only way to achieve this is through scale and automation. We conducted a global search for partners that would allow us to leverage technology that is used in traditional agriculture and is new to cannabis in the US.

CIM: How does current and future legislation impact your business?

CN: We are mostly focusing on a state-level licensing and regulations affecting nurseries. Even the forward-thinking states with nursery-specific licensing need education on micropropagation and how it could work in their particular regime. Ultimately, we focus on building strict compliance procedures while working closely with regulators to develop future regulations while ensuring the best outcomes for all stakeholders.
