The office of the State Attorney announced that it has moved a motion in court by way of which as many as 1000 cases are going to be expunged from criminal records. Minor offenses relate to those in which is a person is found in posses of less than 30 grams of marijuana.

Legalization in Michigan

Another major development for the American marijuana industry in December was the legalization of marijuana sales in the state of Michigan. It came about just over a year after the citizens of the state had voted in favor of marijuana legalization in a referendum. It became the first state in the Midwest to have legalized marijuana. Analysts believe that the casual weed market in the state could be worth in the $1.4 billion to $1.7 billion range in a few years.

Trulieve

One of the bigger news stories from December was a report published by Grizzly Research, in which it stated that the company Trulieve (TCNNF)is a fraudulent operation. The report stated that Trulieve operates outdoor hoop houses spanning across 1.4 million square foot and that leads to the production of low-quality marijuana.

Trulieve responded to the report and stated that the report is filled with falsehoods with regards to its products as well as its production facilities. The company also stated that the report affected the stock price and hence it has decided to pursue legal action against Grizzly.
