The emotional and physical stress that followed having a seizure in front of everyone I knew led me to take a leave of absence for a few months while I recovered. My employer was incredibly supportive and made my leave and my transition back to work so easy for me. Unfortunately, I never felt the same passion or desire to stay at my job and about a year later I quit to start a business with Katie.

We started making body salves, sugar scrubs, even cleaning products with essential oils and began selling them at Farmer's Markets. About a year and half into it, I was starting to struggle heavily with depression and fatigue again. I started going to therapy, and in one of my sessions my therapist brought me information on Universities doing studies with alternative medicines for depression, anxiety and epilepsy. I looked into it and tried teas, diets, essential oils, etc. Nothing really "worked" per se. In one of my searches for new alternative medicines for epilepsy, I came across the Charlotte's Web story about a little girl who was having uncontrollable seizures and cannabis oil was helping.
