Our mission statement:

The Association of Cannabis Specialists ensures the highest standards in the practice of cannabis medicine, safeguards patient care with clinical best practices, and interfaces with other stakeholders in the cannabis community. We believe that patients are uniquely vulnerable and have very different needs than recreational users. We provide evidence and experience based education for patients, cannabis clinicians, referring clinicians, and lawmakers to help them understand cannabis medicine and make informed decisions. We are a political organization striving to implement best practices in the laws and regulations at the federal, state, and international levels.

We have a number of active committees that support the initiatives described in the mission statement above. These include an education committee, a journal, a political action committee, an institutional caregiver committee, and a dispensary review committee. Committees in the ACS are dynamic and welcome new members who possess time, connections, and enthusiasm for our mission.

We are a growing, vital organization, on track to increase from 300 to 1000 members by the end of 2018. Our faculty comprise a wide range of medical disciplines including Oncology, Neurology, Psychiatry, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, Pediatrics, and Nursing. Allied professionals, researchers, and interested members of the public are all welcome members as well.

An unwavering commitment to the needs and care of our patients is at the core of the ACS, and guides all of our activities. Support for the ACS comes from members as well as grant funding. If you are a cannabis specialist, referring provider, researcher, or member of the public and would like to join our efforts on behalf of patients, please visit our website www.cannabis-specialist.org to JOIN or DONATE.
