GRATITUDE

From the Editor

Seasons greetings CANNAHEALTH Readers,

The holiday season is almost to an end and the new year is approaching! It’s during this time that we reserve time to ourselves to reflect on what has past and begin to create what will come. It’s a time that we reset our mind, body and soul to face the new year with vigor and zest! A balance within the endocannabinoid system, a biological system involved in establishing and maintain optimal health, is vital in this effort. Its complex actions allowing communications and coordination between all the body’s organs create a bridge between the body and mind.

During the holiday season many of our body's systems are put to the test particularly our digestive system! Studies have confirmed the presence of the endocannabinoid system in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Additional evidence supports the presence of cannabinoid (CB) receptors CB1 and CB2 within the GI tract making it a potential target for the treatment of GI disorders such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting as well as GI inflammation. The full therapeutic potential of the Cannabis plant in digestive health is still under research like all other aspect of medical Cannabis. However, these findings may lay the foundation of more supporting evidence to follow.

While medical Cannabis may be legal for that much needed end-of life, end stage or cancer diagnosed patient, what about those who simply want to better their quality of life? Those who don’t have a qualifying condition but still need the benefits of the plant? While it’s not advised to not consult with a physician, some just don’t have that luxury. Many patients are taking research into their own hands and helping

themselves. One method that’s coming to light

is juicing. Juicing raw Cannabis can help

prevent health issues before they arise by

assisting with immune system function and

providing anti-inflammatory benefits.

I hope you enjoy this issue and that it may

provide you with internal balance as you enter

the new year with a cleansed body, mind and

soul.

Wishing you Peace, Health and Prosperity,
