As propaganda flourished throughout my childhood, we were told that drugs would fry our brains like an egg. We were told that smoking weed would make you stupid. Once I began
to know the truth from the propaganda, it made me distrust the source. It made me cynical, and I stopped listening to what was being fed to us in media and started reading research.
Despite what some opponents say, marijuana legalization doesn’t create a demand. The demand is there. The question is what gives us the best control of the quality and distribution? Marijuana on the illicit market is not tested for dangerous chemicals, mold or pathogens. It is sold under whatever name the dealer uses and no one’s ID is checked before purchase.
