edge off of the pain. Talking with the people there makes you want to do anything you can to help them. I worked with them to figure out how to integrate CBD into their medical plans, and I educated them on what it can and can’t do for them, setting realistic expectations.

Once again, this goes back to neuroplasticity and changing the brain through a combination of treatments involving hemp, CBD, counseling and supplements. This truly is the foundation for which the future of medical treatment should be established.

Dosing and Delivery: Start Low and Go Slow

No single dose of CBD will solve everyone's problem - everyone has their own individual dose and this is where mindfulness comes into play again. We spend a lot of time with our patients talking about dosing and educating them on best practices (dosing chart on p42). The number one thing we tell them is to start low and go slow - and ramp up until you find your sweet spot. And then continue to monitor and adjust your dosage every time you refill.

There are some important nuances of dosing to understand. What happens when it stops working? Why would you take less after 3 months versus more? The reality is that patients get better when they take less CBD after 3 months. In contrast to narcotics, the more you take the more you want. That is the addictive nature of opioid drugs.

Generally speaking, no two batches are the same. I could give someone a bottle of CBD that works great for them today, then the next time they buy the same product, which was likely produced from a different harvest of hemp with a different cannabinoid profile, it could work differently. Every time you extract from a plant, the product changes. From the cannabinoid profile to the ratio of CBD to other cannabinoids, it's always changing (my product included!). As such, the industry has an inherent problem delivering consistent cannabis oil to patients. Patients don't know what profile they need or what to look for (nor should they be expected to!)

That brings us to where we are today. Integrated Hemp Solutions started doing some research and development into different formulations that we think will make the product more consistent. That's a big focus of our efforts right now. I hope to share with you some of our findings - and introduce some new premiere products - very soon.
