In addition, the microcompounds, such as THCv, CBC, CBG, CBN, CBGa, and others, have become a focus to work on the incorporation of these compounds for a stronger entourage effect. Armed with years of experience in the medical cannabis industry, Barth and his partner, Dr. Kellie Roberge, have come to understand that treating medical conditions with distinctive blends of cannabinoids is not always as straightforward as it may seem. The Unconventional Makings of a Healer

A native of Youngstown, Ohio, Barth moved to New England when he was a child, then returned to Ohio to finish high school at a trade school for builders. In college, he studied radiology, but eventually left to fuel his first passion: creating and designing eighteenth- and nineteenth-century furniture. He received his formal craftsman’s education at the North Bennet Street School in Boston, excelling at

graduating early. From there, Barth opened his own business, Montgomery Custom Interiors. Barth premiered on This Old House, Tom Silva’s celebrated home improvement and remodeling show in 1999, showcasing his furniture design and cabinetry for the Billerica House Project.

In 2004, Barth’s life changed when his grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease – and watching her suffer propelled him towards exploring the potential of medical cannabis. Although he wasn’t able to effectively treat his grandmother before she passed away, Barth made a promise to himself: From that day forward, it became his mission to help as many patients as he could with the knowledge he’d amassed.
