After a few years with American Express, Mr. Remis quickly realized that being in such a large organization wasn’t a good fit for him, he went back to his CPA roots and landed with a Auditor / Tax Preparer role as a Sr. Manager for Khalsa McBrearty Accountancy, LP in Phoenix Arizona. Mr. Remis built up from nothing a 550k yearly audit practice and honed his tax preparatory skills in complex tax returns for estates, non-profits and complicated business entities.

In March 2013, Mr. Remis accepted a Chief Financial and Human Resources Officer opportunity with InnSuites Hospitality Trust (NYSE American: IHT). Mr. Remis was responsible for Accounting, Human Resources, Technology, Risk Management and SEC compliance efforts. He added multi-million dollars of Shareholder value by co-developing and co-managing an independent hotel product and services start-up division utilizing online technology solutions to provide technology services to independent hoteliers worldwide. Thru his leadership, Mr. Remis supported nearly a 10M capital raise thru private placement equity investments from Accredited Investors, collaborated with the Board of Trustees to develop/execute a Corporate Exit Strategy that saw record sales values for its Best Western hotel assets, reduced auditing and professional fees by $150,000 yearly by finding value-added professional CPA Firms to assist with their audit/tax needs and reduced Workers Compensation Insurance expenses by $280,000 yearly by instituting a safety risk and management program at the property level. For his operational and financial executive leadership at InnSuites, Mr. Remis received the Chief Financial Officer of the Year –Public Company award from the Financial Executive International Arizona Chapter in 2017.

From 2017 –2019, Mr. Remis has been providing Chief Financial Officer and tax services to a variety of companies including an construction company and a variety of service companies. In 2019, Mr. Remis became Acting CFO for a local vape company providing operational and accounting expertise during an implementation of their ERP solution. In 2019, Mr. Remis became a Chief Accounting Officer for a cannabis Multi-State Operator (“MSO”) where he received his in-depth knowledge of the industry and different challenges existing cannabis companies within each portion of the supply chain. Working at cultivation, distributor, manufacturer and retail locations, Mr. Remis quickly gained an understanding of a large-scale operator issues with operations, inventory and accounting.
