ADBA’s Top Pointed Weight Pulling American Bully JENSEN’S “A/A VIII” KING ROMEO” Owned by Darren Jensen of Badland Kennel The first APBT I ever owned was around 1987. It was my first choice when I become old enough to own my own dog, I bought another around 1996 and another soon after that (a little brindle dog). Tammy and I were married in 2001 and immediately bought 2 dogs Bubafluff & Aragon. One of the lady’ s that helped me find “Aragon”, told me about the ADBA dog shows. We started going and doing a little conformation with Aragon and a third dog we bought “Q-Tip”. At the second show we went to, I noticed the weight pull and watched a big Dagger dog pull a cart that was over 10,000 lbs and the way the dog pulled with all his heart and I thought WOW!! I want to do that with my dogs, I bought a harness at that show and when I went home I loaded up my dogs with weight and couldn’t figure dog show and found a puppy so she could have a new companion… “King Romeo” at 8 weeks. Q-tip left, and Aragon right. out why they would not pull it. So after a few times I gave up and put the harness in the garage…. Eight years later, my female Bubafluff, was my only dog. She was heartbroken after losing her companion Aragon, so we went to a I had never seen a dog with that much energy, and around 4 months old when trying to leash train him, he would not stop yanking me relentlessly. For some reason my mind went back to the dog shows and the weight pull harness and I thought that maybe this dog would pull weight, so I hooked up the harnes, chain and weight and he ran with it like he had nothing be 13
