of Jada, Young would propose a design collaboration
between himself and Terrance. A capsule collection
reflecting the style of Terrance, while mixing with
structured pieces ; Terrance X KYD. Not one to shy
away from creative work, He lunged at the opportu-
nity. The pair would, a month later, share a teaser for
their capsule collection set for near release.
“I worked around designers most of my life to be
honest. I never imagined being able to create any
type of clothing but I felt like the opportunity was
way too good to ignore. I was given such trust and
freedom to create items that I myself would wear. I
was quite selfish when I sketched my ideas. Kerby
Young really allowed me to be myself on these pieces
and I’m stoked to share with everyone!”
With a firm grip on life’s throttle, He doesn’t show
any signs of slowing down anytime soon. Terrance
aims to continue expressing himself creatively and
hopefully contribute positively to his community
through the arts. Already working diligently on his
second book, preparing for the release of the Ter-
rance X KYD collection and other projects on the
way. He’s set to release a collection of cinematic pho-
tos that reflect a very real unfortunate incident sur-
vived by a close friend titled GIRL. GIRL reflects the
decision made by his friend to go on living a healthy
life despite having gone through a very traumatic ex-
perience. While the topic may seem touchy, he feels
that sharing these visuals can help bring about the
realisation that living your life in a healthy manner is
attainable. He insists that it’s only ever worth it if you
enjoy what you do.
“GIRL has been shot over a year now and I’m still
waiting the right moment to share. It has to be right!
Creating art in any form or contributing toward it’s
creation has been my only goal. Growing up I had
a lot of individuals around me that were living out
their actual dreams and that was very inspiring for
me. I just hope I can be that for anyone else, espe-
cially kids. I remember that sense on invulnerability
as a kid, feeling like I can do anything! I hope to
spark that feeling in as many kids or anyone at all
as possible. I hope that in the future I can possibly
create or be a part of a platform where creatives can
indulge in their crafts comfortably.”
