KNOCKING DOWN THE STATISTICS by Lisa Taylor
Good Day , my name is Lisa-Marie Taylor , formerly ( Bolger ).
I competed in the CPA Naturals , in St . Johns , NL in 2019 . Bikini Division ( true novice ). At the ripe age of 30 . You are probably asking yourself , ok ? And what makes me think I could be a great ambassador for the CPA ?
Well , I ’ m on a successful weight loss journey , I topped out around 350lbs . Took 5 years to lose the weight , and holding steady and focusing on building my physic .
After my first show , I got my critique from Heather Leblanc . From there I used it to fuel me even farther , knowing that one day I will step on stage again , bringing my utmost best physic . That was just the beginning .
Fast forward , as we entered our Global Pandemic and living in colder climates . I focused on nutrition , movement , and maintaining the muscles I had been working so hard for . As the gyms reopen it ’ s been game on . Chasing my dreams , and building my body . Alongside my best friend , husband , and biggest supporter , Jason .
As for my social media platforms , I have very little . But I believe that to be beneficial , hear me out . The great stay silent and grind , without any noise or support . Work hard in silence only to come out when you are ready , allowing full control of the movement ( brands , partnerships etc .) and change you want to bring with your social platforms . That is motivation at its finest . It brings uniqueness to said business , and or organization .

At the age of 16 , I moved to Labrador City , NL , rented a one bedroom apartment , and worked two jobs . At the Age of 18 I became pregnant with my son Keyo . I was then 140lbs . What I didn ’ t know at that point , just how much that baby would change my life forever .
Fast forward to 2009 , I was at my heaviest , I was a single parent struggling to provide . I would work the night shift on rebuild in one of the local mines , while my son slept and I averaged 2-3 hours of sleep every day , sneaking every moment I could .
In 2010 , I left Labrador City , moved to CBS , NL to pursue a trade in hairstyling and barbering . I have been self- employed ever since . I count my blessings for the struggles , they have made me who I am today .
I was the modern day statistic , single mother , and no high school , overweight . I decided I should and would be the best example I could be for my son , beating every statistic set forth . I got my education , and then bought my first house in 2011 .
But what fuelled my weight loss ?? I wanted to pull my son up the hill on a sleigh . Yes , that ’ s correct . I began my journey with complet-
