REPORT

Dear Members :
We are starting the new year with the hope of more normalcy in our lives . Regardless of the pandemic , which just won ’ t let go , we continue our fitness regimen and set our goals to compete . The schedule of competitions can be viewed on the CPA website ( www . canadianphysiquealliance . com ). Promoters and their teams are anxious to get the season started with all contests scheduled to pre pandemic dates .
We finished the 2021 season with a record number of new IFBB Pros thanks to the five pro qualifiers – the Canadian National Pro Qualifier , the Natural Canada Pro Qualifier , the Natural Pro Qualifier in Virginia , USA , the Toronto Pro SuperShow Pro Qualifier , and the Vancouver Pro / Am . We are looking forward to seeing our new pros hitting the stage in 2022 .
The CPA influence is being felt across the world including Europe . In 2021 we ran a pro qualifier and 3 regional contests based on the Canadian model under the NPC Worldwide umbrella . There are plans for 5 regionals and a pro qualifier in 2022 to be held in France . Canadians who place in the top 15 in any of our pro qualifiers are invited to compete on October 1st for a pro card in France . We also have opportunities in Colombia where one of our own CPA members Ibon Palacio is promoting a Natural Pro Qualifier in Medellin , Colombia . Again top 15 from our Natural Canada and Ben Weider Naturals qualify to compete at this event being held February 18 , 2022 .
To maintain consistency with NPC USA , the CPA will change our qualification period to the following : Competing at a regional contest and placing in the top 3 in your class will qualify you to a Pro Qualifier in Canada from the date you competed for 12 months . You will not lose that qualification if you compete in other regional contests within the 12 months but placing again in the top 3 will qualify you for 12 months from the date of the last regional show you competed in . For example , if you compete at a regional contest in September of 2022 and place in the top 3 you will be qualified up to September 2023 to a Pro Qualifier . If you compete again in December of 2022 and place in the top 3 your qualification is extended to December of 2023 .
This new qualification will also apply for Pro Qualifiers . Placing top 5 at a Pro Qualifier will qualify you for 12 months from the date of the Pro Qualifier you competed in . Top 15 from a Pro Qualifier in Canada will qualify you for 12 months to the North Americans or other Pro Qualifiers around the world . The same applies for top 15 at the Natural Pro Qualifier which qualifies you to the Ben Weider Naturals or any Natural Pro Qualifier around the world for up to 12 months .
In closing , having successful competitions and finishing 2021 strong has given us momentum to continue with confidence that 2022 will be a better year . Looking forward to seeing you in the new year .
