the overall , from 20 women . I competed again in 2009 in bodybuilding and placed 2nd . In 2011 , I had my daughter at 40 years of age . We were living in an area where a gym wasn ’ t easily accessible and I didn ’ t want to be away from her for very long so I didn ’ t work out very much during her first 4 years . Then , we built a huge garage and started building our own gym . I found my mojo again !
My brother died in 2015 unexpectedly which devastated me . Before his death , he competed in Masters Track and Field . I decided to get back into the sport myself in 2019 and was very successful . However , in 2020 just before covid shut us down , I completely ruptured my achilles in the high jump on my last jump ( I still won !). Two days later , I hobbled down to our new basement gym with my walker and worked on my upper body . “ It ’ s not what I could no longer do , it ’ s what can I still do ?” Once recovered , I still competed in the throwing events . I also continued to compete in Figure in 2018 , twice that year and came in both 1st and 2nd .
At school , I began to teach Phys Ed and Weight Training and loved passing on my knowledge to my students , but I also began researching what I needed to do to improve my symmetry , what the divisions were looking for etc . I have always been my own coach in bodybuilding for both training and nutrition , but I ask questions , I watch Youtube , I listen , I write notes , I reflect , I track etc . I made huge improvements from 2020-2022 . It was in 2022 that I competed in 3 shows in Figure and did well . At the end of 2022 to the end of 2023 , I was mentally and emotionally exhausted . Within 9 years , I not only lost my brother / coach , but I also lost my oldest brother , my older sister and my brother in law all unexpectedly , as well as my father in law . It was just me , an only child now , trying to be there for my family and my parents , both of whom are not physically well . Working became
