On behalf of the Canadian Physique Alliance , I would like to focus on the remaining pro qualifiers in Canada and the US that our CPA members may participate in once qualified .
The first one coming up has likely taken place by the time you receive this newsletter . The 2022 North American ’ s is being held August 31 st to September 4th in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania . You ’ re probably wondering why talk about a pro qualifier not held in Canada ? There is a rich history regarding this competition as it was first promoted by a promoter from Canada for a few years and was held in Toronto . This contest was at one time the only international event that was rotated between Canada , USA and Mexico . I had the privileged back in the day to judge this event in Mexico , Canada and many times in the US . This contest is known to competitors as the friendliest contest in North America promoted by Gary Udit and his expert team who help him manage the four-day event . It has now found its permanent home in Pittsburgh , USA . This pro qualifier now offers over 100 IFBB Pro Cards and is one of the best competitor attended pro qualifiers in North America , boasting up to 2000 entries in some years . In 2022 , Canada has 60 plus competitors who have qualified and will compete at this contest , they qualified by competing and placing top 15 at a 2021 or 2022 pro qualifier here in Canada . Many of our CPA members have won their pro cards at this event and this year won ’ t be different as Canada is well represented . The quality of our competitors is second to none as the road to this elite contest is competitive and those who did not win their IFBB Pro Card , returned to Canada to requalify at one of our Canadian Pro Qualifiers with the hopes of winning it .
Our second contest on the list with a history in Canada is the Ben Weider Natural Pro / Am . This contest is promoted by Gary Udit and myself and will be held in Alexandria , Virginia , USA on September 30 th . This is the onlysanctioned Natural Pro show in the world . I am proud to say that the Ben Weider Pro Qualifier and Pro Show started right here in Canada in 2018 at the famous theatre in Montreal , Quebec where Ben Weider himself promoted his first international contest ! We have been very fortunate that during the height of the COVID pandemic , where restrictions were at their maximum in Canada , we were able to successfully continue to promote this contest in Virginia , USA . Those amateur competitors winning their pro cards can compete on the same day at the Ben Weider natural Pro event and possibly qualify to the one and only Olympia !! Currently the only qualification for CPA members to compete at this Natural Pro / AM event is placing Top 15 at the Natural Canada ’ s .
Our final pro qualifier this year is the Canadian National Pro Qualifier . This contest also has a rich history , holding the Mr . Canada title has always been a prestigious honor ! This year the contest is being held on Saturday October 8 th at the Delta Hotel Toronto Airport and Conference Centre , 655 Dixon Road , the most competitor friendly contest in Canada . Only minutes from Canada ’ s largest international airport , the hotel has it all , the show venue , an expo area , hotel rooms and the backstage with the official hair , makeup and tanning--all conveniently in one location . This competition is open to all Canadians who have qualified to compete and offers Pro Cards in every category , both open and masters . This is the final Pro Qualifier of the year where placing in the Top 5 will qualify you to all the Open Canadian Pro Qualifiers in 2023 and the Top 15 to the 2023 North American ’ s , the amateur Olympia and the Arnolds USA . This is the opportunity to in your Pro Card in Canada and receive the ultimate recognition as the newest Canadian Pro ready to hit the Pro stage in 2023 .
I would like to finish off by also mentioning that on October 1 st , Corey Swiergosz owner of Influential Sports will be hosting the 212 Men ’ s Bodybuilding Pro Show as an addition to our CPA Open Westcoast Iron Vancity Showdown . This will be the last Pro Show of the year in Burnaby BC , Canada and the last chance to qualify to the 2022 Olympia .
