ENTER DISCIPLINE... As part of creating a successful path for myself, I’ve committed to listening to motivational clips and setting intentions in the morning before work. I was listening to Tony Robbins. He told the story of an elephant that was tied with a rope to a small peg in the ground as a baby. While young and potentially incapable of breaking free, it is conditioned as it gets older and stronger that it cannot break free and thus, will never try. We know this adult elephant in its majestic glory could break to freedom in a moment; however, it believes it cannot and thus remains. This resonated with me. I feel as though my lack of sense of deserving and current habits are currently my peg and rope. This first month since I started “this” documentation process, I have really noticed my habitual behaviours and my coping methods. I certainly know that grabbing the office-provided TimBit is not going to serve my goals, but there I go. For me, having one doesn’t exist. Sugar sends me over the edge into diet blasphemy, but that’s another column. I do these things and I am past understanding why as much as I just want to stop. Enter discipline.  I FEEL AS THOUGH MY LACK OF SENSE OF DESERVING AND CURRENT HABITS ARE CURRENTLY MY PEG AND ROPE.
