CANADIAN PHYSIQUE ALLIANCE November/December ISSUE | Seite 65
My name is Dana Williams. I live in
Edmonton, Alberta.
I work as a Billing Rep. for a trucking
company and run a part time
hairstyling business from home.
I was a competitive figure skater my
whole up bringing and once I stopped
skating I started going to the gym
just to stay in shape. I started seeing
girls at my gym that competed in
figure and they convinced me to go
watch a show. After that first show I
was hooked on doing physique and
I started my prep for my show a few
months later. Physique is the only class
I’ve competed in.
I have competed in two CPA shows
thus far and 10 competitions in total.
I was awarded the Spotlight award
at the 2018 Canadian National Pro
Qualifier where I received my Pro card.
My favourite work out routine
is definitely legs! Leg extensions are my
fav.
As cliche as it sounds, honestly, just
never give up on your dreams. You are
capable of so much if you just put your
mind to it.
It made the most sense with the goals
that I wanted to attain to compete
with the CPA. It’s the only federation
in Canada where I could win my IFBB
pro card.
Make sure you do your research. Find
a coach that you get along with who
sees your potential and who won’t
try to make you do things you’re not
comfortable with.
Also find yourself a good posing
coach! Stage presence is everything
and a good posing coach can make a
huge difference!! Also don’t cheap out
on your stage tan and makeup! Use the
professionals, they know best!
