BEWARE OF THIS TYPE OF CONFIDENCE

Much has been written about the importance of confidence . After all , confidence is the cornerstone of personal growth and success . It empowers us to believe in our abilities , take on challenges , achieve goals , and persist in the face of adversity . With confidence , we can communicate effectively , build meaningful relationships , and make sound decisions .
So confidence is always a good thing right ? Wrong ! There ’ s one type of confidence that is quite common but is NOT healthy . And that ’ s called fragile confidence .
Fragile confidence is the tendency to be easily shaken or undermined by setbacks or challenges . Typical characteristic traits of those with fragile confidence is having a persistent fear of failure , excessive criticism and a lack of belief in your abilities .
Sound familiar ? You ’ re not alone . Many athletes even at the top levels struggle with fragile confidence .
So why is fragile confidence unhealthy ? Because those with fragile confidence often experience self-doubt and have difficulty maintaining a positive belief in their abilities , In essence , the athlete ’ s ability to perform at the highest level is contingent upon factors outside of their control . This is not a champion mindset .
Okay , so how does an athlete go from fragile confidence to stable confidence ( a champion ’ s mindset )?
