RON & ANGIE HACHE

Ron and Angie Hache began promoting bodybuilding / fitness competitions in 1979 and have continued to do so every year to present day . Their very first show was in held in Sudbury , beautiful town in Northern Ontario , and since then they have promoted many events across the Province . Ron first became involved in the fitness industry in 1972 as a personal trainer at Vic Tanny ’ s Fitness Centre where he also prepped to compete as a bodybuilder . He entered his first competition in 1976 in Sault Ste . Marie and won his first championship in Sudbury in 1978 – “ The Mr . Sudbury ” and in 1980 won “ The Mr . Northern Ontario ” title . In 1986 Ron was contacted by Chester McLean , President of the Ontario Amateur Bodybuilding Association , to see if he was interested in the position of Regional Director , representing Northern Ontario . Without hesitation Ron accepted and went on to become President of Bodybuilding Ontario , later known as the Ontario Physique Association and subsequently the Canadian Physique Alliance . In 1987 he became a CBBF National Judge and in 1988 an IFBB International Professional League Judge . Annually he judges many Canadian competitions as well as The Mr Olympia , the Arnold Classic and other professional events held in the USA and Internationally . Angie began judging 11 years ago and annually judges a number of Canadian , regional and national competitions . She is actively involved as administrator for the Canadian Physique Alliance . The couple purchased The Gym Fitness Centre in Sudbury , which they operated for 18 years until 2010 . Ron trained and mentored many bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts during his time as owner of “ The Gym ” Prior to retiring , he was employed by the City of Greater Sudbury as a fulltime firefighter for 30 years . He competed in the Firefighter ’ s Combat Challenge , known as the toughest two minutes in sports and set the Canadian record and won the Canadian Masters title in 2002 and in 2005 . Angie , prior to retiring was also employed by the City of Greater Sudbury as City Clerk for 35 years planning and conducting municipal elections for the city , managing legislative processes for Council and Committee , and a host of other duties . Ron ’ s interest in strength training and weightlifting led him and Angie to volunteer as a team leader for the Canadian Special Olympics that were held in Sudbury . Their role in the powerlifting championships component of the Special Olympics earned them a special award of appreciation as the key players that led to its success . The couple is obviously very passionate and committed to the fitness industry and the lifestyle opportunities and challenges it offers . Their leadership in the industry has earned them the rights to host the first IFBB Professional event in Canada . Together with their partners – Jim Morris and Carla Heins they organized the Toronto Pro SuperShow Sports Festival and Expo since June of 2011 and have grown the event for the past 10 years .
