• CONSISTENCY : One of the major struggles mentally comes from inconsistent adherence to a goal or plan . Either training , nutrition , if you ’ re up and down week to week , you will find frustration and negative feedback ; very discouraging . Make sure you make a plan to attack your goals . Like they say “ Fail to plan , plan to fail ”.
• SELF TALK : This is one that can affect all of the above !!! If you constantly talk yourself down , speak badly to yourself you are digging a hole that can be almost impossible to get out of no matter how “ ON POINT ” everything else is ! Take time every day to find positive things you ’ re doing and speak kindly to yourself in times of struggle and remember that not every day will be perfect .
Bodybuilding is a lifestyle you need to work with . It ’ s difficult when you ’ re competing at the highest level no matter what . But it can be crippling even on a day to day basis if you don ’ t make the effort and time to take care of yourself . You need to be honest with yourself and your goals , and like everything else in life , work with what you have ! Remember this is a lifelong journey and can be extremely rewarding . So don ’ t rush anything , keep your goals in sight , plan to succeed , and know that things WILL work out how you want them too !
