HEAD JUDGE CORNER
Two Major
Changes in Posing
RECAP WITH RUDY
by Rudy Jambrosic, Head Judge CPA
Posing this year has
definitely improved. I can
attribute this to the
Canadian Physique
Alliance Ambassador
Program. Even with all
the posing clinics that
are occurring across the
country, athletes are still
getting caught off guard
when it comes to a show.
I’m going to identify the
two largest changes in
the posing round. The
first is in bikini. In bikini,
there are no more
quarter turns and no
standardized
requirements for the
“front pose”. The only
compulsory poses are the
“front pose” and the back
pose. I’ll repeat, these are
the only two compulsory
poses. In the front pose,
you are NOT required to
stand directly to the front
with your hips square to the
judges. You should select a
pose that highlights your
physique. If the athletes are
close in comparison, the
head judge will ask the
ladies to walk to the back of
the stage. This will not
occur at all times, only at
the discretion of the head
judge and when athletes are
close.

GOODBYE to
quarter turns
