HERE ARE SOME TIPS TO FINDING A TRAINER THAT WILL HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO SAFELY AND EFFICIENTLY GET YOU TO YOUR GOALS: 1 THEY PRACTICE WHAT THEY PREACH. They do not need to look like Mr. Olympia but at least have lived and breathed a healthy, fitness oriented lifestyle for more than a few weeks. This may seem vain to a lot of people, but one can often tell when somebody is passionate about fitness by looking at them. If your trainer smells like booze, cigarettes and is 50 lbs. overweight, chances are, they do not practice what they preach. At the end of the day, this is an industry where we are striving to look better, and if your trainer does not have an ounce of muscle on their frame and is bragging to you about how many beers they had last weekend, I recommend stay away. 2 UNDERSTANDING OF HOW TO WORK WITH DIFFERENT DEMOGRAPHICS. Your trainer might be an elite level powerlifter with world records, but if your goal is to lose somebody fat and have increased endurance for your next half marathon, you better be sure they do not put you on their program for how they peaked for their last meet.
