PRE-CONTEST
HIGH MOTIVATION IS
REQUIRED DURING
EACH PHASE
This is the phase that all physique competitors
should absolutely love and thrive in. Once you
have your next show in sight, you will
transition to a stricter diet, faster-paced
training, and more than likely added cardio.
Performance is still a goal, but your primary
objective during this phase should be to get
yourself as conditioned as possible to fit the
criteria of your division.
Your motivation should be at an all-time high.
You will start to see weekly changes in your
body composition, and as you get leaner,
changes will start to come daily! Your mindset
should be narrow and deeply focused on
achieving your personal best!
As the contest draws near, things can get
tough. More calories may get cut, more cardio
may be added, and your energy can start to
dip. It is this stage that separates the
champions from everyone else. To become
successful on show day, you must be willing to
work harder and make more sacrifices than you
ever have.
During that moment your arm is raised
overhead in triumph, you will know that all of
your hard work has paid off… and you can’t
wait to do it all over again!
