CANADIAN PHYSIQUE ALLIANCE MARCH || ISSUE 32 | Seite 33

BE SURE THAT COMPETING IS SOMETHING THAT BRINGS YOU EXCITEMENT AND JOY The challenge and discipline required to commit to a date so far in advance is what provides me the biggest rush of excitement! So give yourself time to prepare for that upcoming show. Don’t decide 2 months before a show date that you want to compete – have that date set in your mind the moment your off season begins or the moment you decide that competing is the route you want to take! Plan out your off- season and areas of improvement with your coach/trainer and be sure to set attainable and reasonable goals for yourself! Set yourself up for success right from the get-go! To go along with giving yourself enough time for preparing for stage, be mindful of how you treat your body; physically and mentally! Be respectful of your body and have patience in the change that you are trying to undergo physically! It doesn’t  just take time and ‘savagery’ to attain the body for stage, it also take a lot of manipulation and trickery for the body to head in the direction of extremely low body fat! So let me repeat, be patient and be respectful of your body.
