CANADIAN PHYSIQUE ALLIANCE March April 2023 | Page 4

Dear Members :
Back in May of 2015 we started our first newsletter as the Ontario Physique Association and continued to publish the newsletter when we became Canadian Physique Alliance ( CPA ). In the first CPA newsletter which was produced in January of 2018 , I wrote the following :
“ I want to officially welcome you to the new Canadian Physique Alliance newsletter . This will be the go-to web magazines for all our members including athletes , trainers , sponsors , promoters , ambassadors , officials , and friends of the CPA . This will be the information center for all of Canada . As new members join up for the 2018 season starting December 15th at www . canadianphysiquealliance . ca they will automatically receive this monthly web magazine . We are inviting experts in the fitness industry from across Canada to participate and are excited about what they will be sharing with us . All CPA contests posters , seminars , contests coverage and news from across Canada will now be available monthly . Although we are all proud of our provincial heritage , we welcome the opportunities that the CPA now offers . CPA is breaking those provincial borders to allow everyone to compete anywhere across Canada without restrictions as in the past . This will unite us as one , you are now representing Canada and part of the largest fitness community in North America . The involvement has been overwhelming with over 50 contests confirmed so far from the East Coast to the West Coast . The new CPA judging format will be consistent from contest to contest regardless of where you live , there will be more stage time for all our competitors to really show the judges why they belong on that stage , There will be more magazine exposure for all our members competing than ever before , there will be more prizes for our winners moving up the tier system . These are exciting changes that have been long overdue . This will benefit our experienced competitors and our novice first time competitors who will enjoy the satisfaction of competing and winning in the new novice division . The road to the Arnolds and the Olympia begins here with the Canadian Physique Alliance . I truly look forward to travelling across Canada to meet all of you on this new journey .”
Looking back at that newsletter almost 5 years ago , I truly believe the CPA delivered on all the expectations stated above . We are now entering a new era of the newsletter .
At this time I would like to acknowledge and thank everyone who has contributed to our newsletter , from the writers , to advertisers , promoters , ambassadors , but especially our Editors .
Since our inception we have had three Editors , Melissa Melnychuk our first Editor . After Melissa resigned John Douglas took over in March of 2020 . John brought his creativity and personal touch to the newsletter and presented a whole new look . With John ’ s recent passing after a courageous battle with cancer , Alex Carmichael has now joined the CPA team as our newest Editor . Alex who like Melissa and John will add his personal touch of creativity to continue improving the look and read of the newsletter .
Once again as stated in our first 2018 CPA Newsletter , I am looking forward to meeting up with many of you in 2023 .
Ron Hache , President Canadian Physique Alliance
