Dear Members: As we begin the competition season this month, I would like to acknowledge the work and commitment of competitors, promoters, officials, judges and ambassadors. The month of March is the season opener with natural and open regional events in Alberta, Ontario, British Columbia, Nova Scotia and Manitoba. Everyone knows the dedication needed by athletes to be competition ready which involves physical, financial and mental preparation. Each competitor has their own personal goals and is an inspiration to others who may want to step on stage. Officials, promoters and volunteers need to respect and acknowledge their commitment by presenting a friendly and professional environment so competitors have a positive experience regardless of their placing. Judges play a critical role within the CPA. This is the core of all credibility within a sport. If the judging is not accurate, fair and non-bias, the integrity of the sport erodes whereby there is loss of support, enthusiasm or willingness to compete. This year we are focusing on enlisting new talented judges in areas where the competitions are being held. There are many of you out there that have an eye for judging but have never thought of testing your gift. We encourage anyone interested in judging to send their resume to 06 6 Canada is leading the way on the technology front thanks to a statistician program developed by Andrew Melling from Muscleware.
