Do not
completely
cut out
cardio
You want to reduce it slowly the same way you
increased your calories. I do not believe in completely
cutting out cardio in the offseason either. Some
people need more than others but keep this in a
good range where you are slowly dropping the cardio.
FOCUS ON A DETOX
OF NOT ONLY THE
BODY BUT THE MIND
I am a big fan of doing a cleanse
of some sort whether it be from
fat burners, from other
supplements or from being so
focused on a specific goal that
you are burning yourself out. We
want to operate at the best
possible level, and we have to
focus on both our mind and our
physical body for this after
pushing ourselves so hard during
a preparation. A detox is going to
look different for every individual
but with the right research,
guidance and focus, the proper
strategy can be created.
SET ANOTHER GOAL
AS SOON AS
POSSIBLE
Whether it is bench pressing an
extra 10 lbs. or improving a
specific body part, a goal must
be set quickly. When you go to
the gym without a specific goal
or without a short term goal,
you may subconsciously not feel
an urgency to give it 100% when
it comes to improving.
So next time you do a show, if you take these factors into
consideration and you create a plan to carefully but efficiently
optimize your nutrition and your training, you can very rapidly make
some great muscle gains. Remember, this is a sport of patience so
why not take advantage of a period where your body is primed to
soak up nutrients?
