Corey Swiergosz
In 2015, at the age of 26 years old, Corey Swiergosz
took on the challenge of promoting his first
bodybuilding/fitness (Victoria Cup) in Victoria,
BC. Without having a show in Victoria for more
than 20 years, it was an overwhelmingly huge task
to attempt to regain the trust and confidence
of the local market that the organization would
once again bring a show back and keep it in
the province's capital city. Grown out of a true
passion for the sport, Corey has continued
to promote 2 events annually which are the
Natural Vancity Showdown (New Westminster,
BC) and the Vancouver Island Showdown (Victoria,
BC) - Formally the Victoria Cup). These annual
events continue to grow in popularity as each show
gains more visibility and word of mouth from the
incredible experiences athletes have competing in
the shows. The Influential Sports Inc brand which
Corey conducts his events under could not do it
alone, the support of the Westcoast Iron owners
(Richy Chan, Ron Partlow, Cory Knowx, Stephen
Didoshak, Andrew Cohoe), Fuel Supplement owner
Andrew Kersten, and Craft Design’s Kyle & Ashleigh
Atkinson are all important parts to ensuring that a
successful event can be run for the athletes entering
the shows. The mentality of #athletesfirst has been
the governing motivation to continue year after year
throughout the changing landscape. It galvanized
all the promoters to keep on track and produce
the best show possible for the athletes each time.
Making many small memories for the athletes along
the way is what separates us from other promoters
within the Canadian Physique Alliance.
Outside of being a contest promoter, Corey has
competed in over 12 Men’s Physique competitions
himself as an athlete. Matching this athlete
perspective with his background in concert
promotion, he has been able to continue to
promote and execute fitness/bodybuilding events
with a high level of athlete satisfaction. With a focus
on innovation, Corey continues to search for new
technology and systems that improve the athlete’s experience. Each show brings something new
as in 2019 with shooting the entire show in full 3D virtual reality which has never been done before.
In 2020, many new challenges present themselves and he is continuing to look at ways to work
within the government regulations and still promote a successful event for everyone involved
including athletes, judges, sponsors, and spectators.
