I will train, not compete and get ready for the fall of 2020. This is the worst thing you can do. It’s like a boxer or MMA fighter taking almost 2 years off before his or her next fight. Before even considering doing a Pro Qualifier you should have at least three to four regional shows under your belt with at least a win or an overall win at one of the regional competitions. The investment of competing in multiple regional shows without being penalized on you qualification is an option you should take advantage of. Like any sport, competing is the best practice you can have before entering the big stage. You can practice all you want in front of a mirror but any trainer or ambassador will tell you the only measurement of your improvements is competing. This is the opportunity for more stage time, learning to own that stage, zoning in on the division that suits your physique, timing your prejudge presentation and your free posing routine to perfection in front of the judges and audience. This is another opportunity for video critiques, your chance to possibly win an overall title and perhaps improve on your qualification to a Pro Qualifier. You can also increase your chances of an IFBB Pro Card by competing in both natural and open events qualifying to multiple Pro Qualifiers. Remember many of the same Head Judges and judges at Regional Shows will see your improvements and take note when you make it to the Pro Qualifier. Enjoy the journey, Being the best at the Regional level will go a long way when you finally hit the Pro Qualifier stage. Ron Hache President Canadian Physique Alliance
